Netherthorpe is an exquisite early Victorian era mourning ring with English hallmarks. This 18k yellow gold ring features a lovely flower motif made of five seed pearls set atop black onyx. The center of the flower of pearls is a rough diamond, likely too small to have been faceted at the time. Scrolling metalwork along the shoulders are accented with black enamel that has been worn off in some places, but leaves behind a gorgeous pattern adding depth and extra beauty to the moody piece. Netherthorpe's18k yellow gold band boasts a lovely segmented design featuring two letters per segment reading 'in memory of' that was at one point in its life more legible, but with time the black enamel has worn away forcing you to really squint to read the message (it could have been missedif it weren't for the obsessive inspection of our team!) The inside of the band is stamped with English hallmarks stating the ring was made in Sheffield in 1857.We totally geek out when we find pieces that still have their original hallmarks so this was a huge WIN for us internally at T&H!
